Elizabeth "Betty" Persson, 61, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 with her husband and son by her side. Born January 27, 1949 in Oregon, IL, daughter of John and Doris (Heise) McDonough. Married Allen Persson on September 14, 1968 in Poplar Grove. Betty worked for 30 plus years in the donut kitchen and at the donut counter at Edwards Apple Orchard. She also owned the Ice Cream Station in Poplar Grove for 3 years and worked at Warner Electric in South Beloit for 12 years. Betty loved people and loved cooking for people. Betty's family would like to thank VNA Hospice of Rockford for their loving care of Betty during her final months. Survivors include her husband Al, son Derek (Ginger) of Poplar Grove, grandchildren Riley, Michael and Daisy, sisters Laurie (Ray) Cotton, Susan (Chuck) Bartlett, brothers Ron (Kathy) McDonough, Pat (Patty) McDonough, Ed (Darlene) Huntley, and Chuck Huntley and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, brothers Bob and Tom, sister Sally, son Corey and granddaughter Diamond.
