Elizabeth Jean Gay, 87, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, July 28, 2021, at Swedish American Hospital in Belvidere. She was born July 23, 1934, in Chicago, IL, daughter to John and Eileen (Glendenning) Mulholland. She attended Belvidere schools and worked at Automatic Electric in Genoa. She was a lifelong waitress, retiring from the Pinecone Restaurant. Elizabeth was a member of Blaine United Methodist Church. She belonged to LeRoy Community Grange and the VFW. In her lifetime, Liz enjoyed going to church, volunteering, traveling, listening to country music, embroidering, shopping, dancing and telling stories of her life experiences. However, the thing that made her heart the happiest, was spending time with her family and friends.

Elizabeth is loved and will be dearly missed by daughter, Sheila (Rocky) Graveman; son, Greg (Jill) Guthrie; nephew, Tim Trueblood; brothers and sisters, John (Carol) Mulholland, Gerri (special friend: Harold Olsen) Anderson; grandchildren, Abby (Art), Luke (Amanda), Shelby, Baylee and Nolan; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Welcoming her to eternal life were her parents, John and Eileen Mulholland; her siblings, Sally, Margaret and Jim; her nephew, Patrick; and her niece, Kathy.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2021, at Blaine United Methodist Church, 7200 Blaine Rd, Poplar Grove, IL 61065. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, at the church. Pastor Tom Hay will officiate. In her honor, memorial contributions to the family.
