Eleanor Stemwedel, 90, of Belvidere, IL passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in North Woods Care Centre. Born July 27, 1928 in Rockford, IL the daughter of Harry and Helen (Doherty) Keene. She married the love of her life Bernard "Jerry" Stemwedel on June 4, 1948 in Rockford, IL. She worked and helped manage Alpine Storage in Rockford, IL. Eleanor loved to play cards with friends, roller-skating when she was younger and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made her spiritual home at St. James Catholic Church.

She is loved and missed by her daughter, Debra (Bradley) Piske; grandchildren, Heather (Lance) Meyer, Hillary Piske, Kimberlee (Lee) Langusch; great-grandchildren, Zachary Meyer, Jacob Meyer, Chole Meyer, Addyson Langusch, Alexandra Langusch as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sisters, Lucille, Genevieve and Elsie.
