Eldon D. Stenerson, 90, of Belvidere, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on December 25, 2016 in the loving presence of his family in Rockford, Il. The son of Harry and Mary (Darmon) Stenerson, Eldon was born on October 7, 1926 in Belvidere, Il. For over forty years, he worked alongside his brothers, Lester and Lawrence and nephew Dennis at Stenerson Machine Service in Belvidere. After retirement Eldon could be seen greeting guests at the Boone County Fair Gate. On September 24, 1948, he married the love of his life and best friend, Doris Marjorie Rubert in Belvidere.

Eldon faithfully attended Evangelical Covenant Church for seventy years. He was a dedicated head usher and Sunday School Bus driver. He enjoyed fishing and boating and created wonderful memories with family at Pleasant Lake, Wi. He will be missed for his kindness and dependability. Most of all he will be known for his great love for his wife, Doris, his children and grandchildren.

Here to cherish Eldon's memory are his children, Terri (Clancy Gourneau) Stenerson, Trudi (John) Gleasman, and Ted (Cindy) Stenerson; beloved and adored grandchildren, Walker Stenerson and Morgan Gleasman; and many nieces and nephews.

Eldon, is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence, Lester, and Willis; sister, Vivian; and loving wife, Doris.

A memorial service, celebrating Eldon's life will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Evangelical Covenant Church, 220 E. Harrison St., Belvidere at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Scott Nellis, officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere.
