IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elaine Judy
Martin
April 7, 1949 – February 25, 2026
Elaine Judy Martin, 76, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on February 25, 2026.
Elaine was born on April 7, 1949, to Lillian (Swanson) Karlson and Nels Karlson. She grew up with a strong sense of family that remained the center of her life. On August 19, 1972, she married the love of her life, Ronald Martin, in Belvidere, Illinois. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.
Elaine was a devoted farmer's wife and homemaker who took great pride in caring for her home and the people she loved. Her kitchen was always warm, with something cooking or baking to share. She especially cherished time with her grandchildren and lovingly helped raise them, giving them guidance, comfort, and unwavering support.
She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, and being present for every moment she could. Elaine was known for putting others before herself. She was a devoted member of the Evangelical Covenant Church and a faithful Christian, all her life. She was kind, loving, strong-willed, and wonderfully stubborn in the way that made her who she was. Her steady presence and generous heart will be deeply missed.
Elaine is survived by her children, Lisa Martin, Teresa Martin, and Scott Martin; her beloved grandchildren, Cody Martin and Kiley Martin; her sisters, Nancy (Chuck) Robbins and Diane Hamilton; as well as her niece and numerous nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nels Karlson and Lillian (Swanson) Karlson; her husband, Ronald Martin; and her brother-in-law Eddie Hamilton.
An evening visitation for Elaine will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 4PM until 6PM at Anderson Funeral Home, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. A funeral service will be held the following day on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10am, with burial to follow at Highland Garden of Memories.
