Edward Flanagan, 81, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Wednesday morning, June 1, 2022. Edward was born January 26, 1941 in Prescott, Arizona, the son of John and Maragaret (Steyh) Flanagan.

Edward was extremely hard working. After his time serving in the United States Army Special Forces, Edward went on to a career as an electrician.

Edward is loved and will be missed by his significant other, Linda Way; his son, Shay (Amanda) Flanagan; his daughter, Corey Flanagan; his step daughters, Andrea Pitkus and Jill (Adam) Keck; grandchildren, Liam Flanagan, Owen Flanagan, Kailey Peterson, Alayna Peterson and Brooklyn Keck; his sister Rose (Joel) Barnes; his brother Robert (Julie) Flanagan; his goddaughter/niece, Wendy Barnes; and his nephew Jim Barnes.

Edward is preceded in death by his brother, John Flanagan Jr.; his mother, Maragaret (Steyh) Flanagan; his father, John Flanagan Sr.; and his nephew, Tom Barnes.
