Edward E. Carter, 76, of Belvidere, died Sunday, November 25, 2007 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a long illness. Born September 11, 1931 in Central City, Kentucky, the son of Jesse and Lena Mae (Casebury) Carter. He has lived in Belvidere 3 years, coming here from Greenville, Kentucky. He was married to Doris Salo, in Michigan on December 11, 1954. Ed was a mechanic for the International Harvester for 35 years before retiring. He was a member of the Chicago I. A. W. union. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his three children, Marlene (Steve) Niemczyk, Belvidere, Ill.; Christine (Melvin) Michaud, Carol Stream, Ill.; Raymond Carter, Crawfordville, Fl.; six grandchildren, Kortney Delisle, David Michaud, Erica Michaud, Chris Carter, Jessica Carter and Alicia Carter; three great grandchildren, Hailey Carter, Johnny Carter and Nicklaus Michaud; two sisters, Lorraine Grogg and Ellen Negoro and brother, Junior Carter. Preceded in death by wife, a son, Eddie Carter and six brothers and sisters.
