Edna I. Lovell Groom, 93, went to be with her Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 25, 2019, as she was surrounded by her
family. She was born on May 19, 1925 in Mohawk, Tennessee, the daughter of
George and Pearl (Haun) Wright. She married John Charles Lovell in Belvidere,
Illinois on November 3, 1945, who passed away in 1981. Edna later married
William C. Groom of Rockford, Illinois on October 3, 1987. He preceded her in
death on September 14, 2010. Edna worked in clerical and factory positions
throughout her life and volunteered with the Salvation Army as well as church
work throughout her life. She loved to teach Sunday school and helping with
vacation Bible school.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Linda (Gary) Lovell-Hulstedt;
two step-children, Margo Groom Pettis of Rockford, Illinois and Scott
(Katharine) Groom of Belvidere, Illinois; two grandchildren, Robert (Lanelle)
Hulstedt of Sanford, Florida and Melissa Hulstedt of Rockford, Illinois; three
great-grandchildren; and a special friend at Fairhaven for many years, Eleanor
Anderson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and seven brothers
and sisters.

Edna was a resident of Fairhaven Christian Center since
August of 2010. The family would like to thank the staff and clergy at
Fairhaven and Northern Illinois Hospice for their excellent care, as well as
Pastor Rife and the deaconesses at First Free of Rockford for their visits and
support over these last nine years.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019,
at Fairhaven Retirement Center, 3470 North Alpine Road, Rockford, Illinois at
2:00 p.m. with a visitation Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. until time of
service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Free of Rockford.
