Edith L. Schuchard, 88, of Belvidere, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 in her home following a short illness. She was born on November 23, 1925 in Bismark, ND; the daughter of Fay H. and Mabel L. (Ackerman) Salter. Edith married Edmond R. Schuchard in Bismark, ND on April 8, 1950. For 15 years, she was employed as a clerk for Schultz Brothers Variety Store before retiring in 1984. Edith was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was involved with various church functions and groups. Edith was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary as well as a member and past-president of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, crocheting, needlework, gardening and her grandchildren. Edith is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Mike) Kruk, of Belvidere, IL; and son, Bruce (Nancy) Schuchard, of Poplar Grove, IL; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Edna Reynolds, and sister-in-law, Alene Salter; numerous, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by parents, husband, Edmond; son Roger, granddaughter, Elizabeth; sister, Mary Lou Salter; and brother, John Salter.

Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 15, 2014 in Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Eugene Wille, officiating. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories.
