Edgar "Ed" "Uncle" Case, 92 of Belvidere, IL, passed away November 22, 2016 in Rockford, IL. He was born on May 3, 1924 in Garrett, Kentucky to Edith (Vicars) and James Case. Edgar worked at J. I. Case in Rockford and Bettendorf Iowa for many years as a Foreman in the shipping department. Edgar was a World War II Army Air Force veteran, was an airplane mechanic, and was very proud of his services. He served with the 3rd Bomb Group, performed occupational duties in Japan, and supervised a crew of technicians and mechanics in the inspection, maintenance, adjustment and repair of aircraft and aircraft engines. He loved to walk dogs and loved animals. He was an avid reader who liked to learn and study many things. He was very knowledgeable. He loved his family and was a kind, loving man.

Edgar will be missed dearly by his sister, Nancy (James) Wright; Faye (Joe) Nelson, Thelma (Dale) Palmer and Bob (Flory) Case; his special great- niece, Farrahn Reid; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Gene Case, Ralph (Gladys) Case and Frances (Art) Rubert; and his beloved dog, Lola.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, with his niece, Rev. Melissa Powers, officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 29 at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. Memorials may be made to the family.
