Eda Mae Vail - Landphere, 90, of Belvidere died Saturday evening, July 7, 2007 in Northwoods Care Center. Eda was born January 5, 1917 in Troy Grove, Illinois the daughter of David and Katie (Straw) Ricedorf. She married Francis Vail in Belvidere, IL on March 2, 1935. Francis preceded Eda in death on July 14, 1960. Eda then married Ralph Landphere in Fredericktown, Missouri on February 10, 1967; He died April 20, 2001. Eda was a waitress for various restaurants and worked 27 years for Arnold Manufacturing Co. as a machine operator retiring in 1978. She was a member of Flora Community Church, past member and former senior regent of the Belvidere Moose Lodge. She was a member of the international Association of Machinist. Eda enjoyed crocheting, bingo and working word puzzles.She is survived by her children, Jean (Robert) Hyser of Roscoe, June (LeRoy) Wikoff of Canon City, Colorado, Edmund (Sharon) Vail of Belvidere; step-children, Charles (Joyce) Vail of Belvidere, Mary McGill of Machesney Park; daughter in-law, Ida Vail of Belvidere; sister Eva Fern Goodall of Capron; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; cousin, Everett (Sarah) Straw of Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.Eda Mae is preceded in death by her parents, husbands; brother, John Ricedorf; son, David Vail; grandson, Craig Hyser; infant granddaughter, Penny Lynn Hyser; stepson, Franklin "Mike" Vail; step-daughter, Doris Rankin.The family would like to acknowledge the tender love and care given to Eda Mae by the OSF Hospice nurses, Dr. Anthony Molinari and special friends, Ida Quist, Beverly and Larry Boin, and Phil and Judy Jones.

A memorial will be established in her name.
