Earl J. Hahn, 80, of Capron died Saturday November 12, 2005 at Biltmore Rehabilitation Center. He was born December 20, 1924 in Compton, IL. to Fred and Eva (Holdren) Hahn. He attended schools in West Brooklyn and graduated from Mendota High School. He married Jean Rury on September 3, 1949 in Oak Park, IL. He enlisted in the Marine Corp. and spent 4 years with the service on Midway Island in the South Pacific. He earned his Masters Degree in botany at Northern Illinois Teachers College in DeKalb and taught 7th and 8th grade science and history at Capron Grade School for 32 years. He was a charter member of the Capron Lions Club, a member of the American Legion in Capron and the Harvard Moose. He is survived by his wife Jean of Capron, children: Pat Quinn of Wooddale, IL., Kathy (Jerry) McEnaney of Harvard, Barbara (Blaine) Backman of Rowe, NM., James (Decima) Hahn of Rockford, William Hahn of Capron, Ruth Wheetley of Rockford, Stephen (Helen) Hahn of Kansas City, MO., Richard Hahn of Rockford, and 7 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, a sister Luella, and a son-in-law G. W. Wheetley.
Memorials may be made to the Capron Lions Club, his main passion, to keep the club alive and growing.
