Belvidere, IllinoisE. Joyce Gustafson, 82, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully Wednesday morning, June 2, 2010 in her home with her loving family at her side after a lingering illness. Joyce was born June 30, 1927 in Belvidere the daughter of E.D. and Ruby (Seble) Barnes. She grew up in Belvidere and attended Belvidere schools. Joyce married H.W. "Pete" Gustafson on June 9, 1946 in Belvidere. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, loved the Cubs and to sing. Joyce sang for 59 weddings, was a member of a Girl's Barbershop Quartet, belonged to gospel groups and sang in her high school's musical. She is loved and will be missed by her husband, Pete of Belvidere; children, Richard (Peggy) Gustafson of Sheboygan, WI, Edward (Kimberly) Gustafson of Belvidere; grandchildren, Jonathan (Joanna) Ford-Gustafson, Stephanie (Joseph) Medinger, Nathanial Gustafson, Alexander Gustafson; seven great-grandchildren; brother in-law, Dr. Robert and Mildred Gustafson; sisters in-law, Jean Hoiness and Ramona Barnes; two cousins and nine nieces and nephews. Joyce is predeceased by her parents and brother, Robert Barnes.

Memorials can be given to First United Methodist Church or to OSF Hospice in Joyce's memory.
