Caledonia, ILE. Gertrude Dach, 90, of Caledonia, IL died peacefully Wednesday morning, June 5, 2013 surrounded by her family at home. Gertrude was born on her family's farm October 9, 1922 in Fairdale, IL the daughter of Charles Ellsworth and Mena Adelia (Belshaw) Gilchrist. She married Max E. Dach on August 12, 1945 in Fairdale, IL. Gertrude was a homemaker and also retired from Libby McNeil and Libby/Larsens in Darien, WI where she was a supervisor. She was a member of Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church for over 50 years, where she was a member of Jefferson Prairie Quilters, Reminisce and Grace Circle. She was also actively involved in sewing and completing bags for school children and Skaalan Home residents. Her hobbies included playing cards at the Keen Age Center, gardening in her backyard, and visiting with family and friends. She was the adopted mother of the Birkebeiner Ski Patrol of Hayward, WI.Survivors include her children Bradley Max Dach (Marcia) of Lexington, NC; Barbara Dach Luther (William) of Leesburg, VA; Curtis Harley Dach of Sparks, NV; Nancy Ruth Dach of Plainfield, IL; grandson Andrew and great-grandson Jules of Montpelier, France. She is also survived by Clara, her cat.Gertrude is preceded in death by her husband Max, her three sisters and her parents.
