Duane R. Aldrich, 86, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Machesney Park. Born August 31, 1929 in Brokaw, WI, son of Cyrus and Leona (Lowe) Aldrich. He graduated from Wausau High School, Class of 1948, where he was involved with boxing. Duane was a proud veteran of the National Guard from 1947-1951 and the United States Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1955. Duane married Marjorie Suske on September 16, 1950 in Wausau, WI; she preceded him in death on June 2, 1996. He later married Marian Loy on April 12, 1997 in Loves Park, IL, she also preceded him in death. Duane worked as an electrician for Chrysler Corporation for 23 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the VFW Post #1461, American Legion Post # 77 and former member of the Belvidere Moose. Duane had a passion for woodworking, gardening, and working on cars. He enjoyed going to Northern Wisconsin, where he loved camping and fishing. Duane was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Duane is loved and is missed by his children, Terry Aldrich of Schaumburg, IL, Cathy (Duane) Tinsley of Caledonia, IL, Brenda Kennard of Virginia Beach, VA, and Mary (David) Anspach of Nipomo, CA; grandchildren, Ryan Aldrich, Alicia Aldrich, Morrie Forsythe, Christopher Tinsley, Aubrey Tinsley, Amanda (Stuart) Lloyd, Chirstine Kennard, Jennifer Kennard, Brett Anspach, and Stephanie Anspach; 2 great-grandchildren, Mason Lloyd and Gabriel Bear Tinsley; sisters, Phyllis Fancher, Lorene Fritz, and Yvonne (David)Mais; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his 2 wives, Marjorie and Marian; parents, brothers, Lazelle, Dale, Gene and Phillip Aldrich.
Graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, February 29, 2016 at Saint James Cemetery, Belvidere, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, February 29, 2016 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008. Burial in Saint James Cemetery.
