Poplar Grove, IllinoisDouglas W. Scott, 64, of Poplar Grove, IL died Wednesday evening October 21, 2009 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center with his loving family present after a short illness. Doug was born December 2, 1944 in Sterling, IL the son of John and Alice (Ryan) Scott, Sr. He married Connie Schoepski on December 26, 1992 in the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. Over the years, Doug worked as a cable splicer and in custodial work for the North Boone School District. He served in the US Navy. Doug was a member of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church and a former member of the Northern Illinois Corvette Club.Doug is loved and will be missed by his wife Connie of Poplar Grove; father John Scott, Sr. of Durand, IL.; children Danielle (Vincent) Darr of Janesville, WI, Michelle (Robert) Rever of Rockford, IL, Cory (Whitney) Scott of Harvard, IL, Marcus (Ginger Jones) McNames of Morris, IL; grandchildren, Risa (Anthony) Taylor, Caden Scott, Allison Scott, Brianna Scott, Ryan McNames; great grandchildren Gwenevere and Izabelle Taylor; brother John (Henrietta) Scott, Jr. of Durand and numerous nieces and nephews. Doug is predeceased by his mother and a sister in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in care of the family in Doug's name.
