Douglas Allen Nord, 50, of Belvidere died Saturday July 22, 2006 at his home. He was born August 10, 1955 in Belvidere to Dale and Audrey (Keast) Nord. He was raised on the family farm outside of Garden Prairie and was involved in various organizations including F.F.A. and 4-H. Graduating from Belvidere High School, Doug settled in Belvidere where he owned and operated a successful furniture refinishing business in Belvidere drawing clients from throughout northern Illinois. Douglas was also a member of the Construction and General Laborers District Council Union of Chicago. He is survived by his father, brothers and sister: Dale Nord of Cherry Valley, Diane (Ted) Leisher of Parker, CO., Dennis (Lois) Nord of Belvidere, David (Julie) Nord of Rockford, 8 nieces and nephews, 3 grand-nieces, special friends: Kevin and Kyle Schulenburg, and many close friends. He is predeceased by his mother and his grandparents.
