Dorothy A. Walley, 91, of Belvidere, IL and formerly of Garden Prairie, IL died peacefully Thursday evening November 29, 2012 in her home. Dorothy was born August 30, 1921 in Marengo, IL the daughter of Carl and Ellen (Peterson) Johnson. Dorothy married Lloyd S. Walley on January 3, 1942 in Marengo. She retired after 29 years of providing daily lunches to the students of Kishwaukee School in Garden Prairie. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, decorating for the holidays and playing "Bingo". Her devoted passion was caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their high school sporting events. Dorothy was a member of Garden Prairie United Church of Christ.Dorothy is loved and will be missed by her children Judy (Brad) Salley of Belvidere, Larry (Martha) Walley of Sparta, WI; grandchildren Rob (Amber) Salley, Rhonda (Cory) Osterberg, Eric (Becky) Walley, Heather Walley; great grandchildren Ryan, Emma, Brandon, Lindsay, Ian, Logan, Lucas; her loving care giver Sue. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents, husband Lloyd and brothers Everett and Harold Johnson.The family also acknowledges the love and tender care given to Dorothy by her care giver Sue, the staff of Maple Crest Nursing Home and all the caring people with OSF Hospice.

Memorials can be given in care of Garden Prairie United Church of Christ or OSF Hospice in Dorothy's name.
