Belvidere, IllinoisDorothy Smith 87, of Belvidere died peacefully, July 28, 2009 in her home after a lengthy illness. Dorothy was born May 28, 1922 in St. Edward, NE the daughter of Fred and Margarette (Riley) Schroeder. She married Alfred Creamer and then Lawrence Carlisle in 1949; he preceded her in death in September of 1976. She then married Ted Smith who predeceased her in 1985. Dorothy was a talented crafter and crocheted many items for the Salvation Army where she enjoyed volunteering her time. She was a member of the Belvidere Assembly of God Church.Survivors include her children, Nancy (Paul) Cousins of El Cajon, CA, Darrell (Georgia) Creamer of Ankeny, IA, Margaret (Larry) Osborne of Belvidere, IL, Larry (Robin) Carlisle of San Diego, CA and Evelyn Carlisle of Illinois; sisters, Molly Eisle, Patty (Rocky) Williams and Doris Ricketts, 25 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, husbands; sons, Charles and Dennis; sister, Bonnie Jolly; brothers, Robert, Don and Jack Schroeder.
