Dorothy J. Perkins, 92, of Dekalb, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born September 16, 1929 in Evanston, Illinois, the daughter of Berger and Martha Pearson. Dorothy was dedicated to her faith. She spent endless hours serving and giving her time to help others. Dorothy had a passion for sewing and was charitable with all she had to help others. Most notably, Dorothy loved spending time with her loving family.She will be missed by all.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, William G. Miedema, Gregory T. (Donna) Miedema, Howard K. (Jennifer) Miedema, Nancy J. (Don) Miedema-Suits; grandchildren, Janel (Arturo), Jason (Carly), Kristen (Nick), Gina (Anthony), Natalie (Steven), Brianna, Kaden, Corey, Valerie, Dane, Eric, Jimmy (Amanda), Brett, Dominick; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Berger and Martha; sister, Mary; brother, Clayton; husband, Loren Perkins; former husband, William Miedema (father of her 6 children); children, Karen and Dick; grandsons, Richie and Jory.All of whom loved her dearly.

The memorial service for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.Burial in Belvidere Cemetery.Memorials to the family to establish later.
