Dorothy May McCartney, 95, of Belvidere died in her home February 11, 2013. Born March 27, 1917 in Beverly, OH; daughter of James Ewell and Charlotte (Dearth) McKelvey. Married Robert Addison McCartney on January 6, 1944 in Selma, AL. Over the years Dorothy worked for the Belvidere Telephone Company, Belvidere Water Department, and the Belvidere Bank, retiring in 1982. Member of First United Methodist Church, and she was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.Survivors include her sons James (Carla) McCartney of Horicon, WI and Thomas McCartney of Freeport; grandchildren Jeffrey (Diane) McCartney, Jamie (Troy) Peerenboom, Matthew (Jodie) McCartney, Cathi (Brian) LaFontaine; great-grandchildren Kyle, Megan, Sophie, Koy, Sloane, Caden, Brynn, Patrick, and Joseph; special nieces Kathy Kretsinger, Linda Hill, and Carol Ashley. Predeceased by her parents, husband Robert, brothers Donald and William McKelvey.
