Dorothy O. Fischer, 86, of Belvidere, died Monday, December 29, 2008 in Northwoods Care Center following a sudden illness. Born December 20, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois; the daughter of William and Margaret (Steffen) Peters. She was married to John Fred Fischer in Chicago, Illinois, on May 17, 1941. Employed as an Emergency Room Clerk for Elmhurst Hospital for 18 years, retiring in 1985. Dorothy is survived by three daughters, Janice (Onvie Lee) Jones, Belvidere, Melody (Don) Calvert and Dorothy (Mark) Hopkins, both of Florida; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a sister, Laverne Storm, of Arizona. Preceded in death by parents, husband, a great grandchild and brother, Wilbur Peters. Family was the most important thing to our loved one and she will always be in our hearts.
