Dorothy Ruth Cooper, 80, of Belvidere, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at her home. Born July 12, 1931 in Aurora, IL, daughter of William and Magalene (Erath) Trapp. Married Willard F. "Bill" Cooper on March 26, 1949 in Aurora, IL, and celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing on October 5, 2004. Dorothy had been the Activities assistant at MapleCrest Care Centre, was an avid gardener, enjoyed sewing, Petit point, and reading. Member of St. James Church and the "Prayer Chain". Dorothy enjoyed the St. James members that brought Holy Communion to her home each Sunday morning. Dorothy loved her Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. "GG" was a child at heart and always came up with creative games during her time with the kids. Survivors include her daughter Evelyn Cooper of Beloit, WI; sons Bill (Sandra) Cooper of Salem, MO, James (Deborah) Cooper of Belvidere, Doug (Beth) Cooper of Belvidere; grandchildren Carolyn (Don) Cooper-Severing, Ken (Emily) Cooper, Shawna Cooper, Edward Cooper, Kyle Cooper, Bethany (Glenn) Benjamin; great-grandchildren Cassandra, Kylie, and Mason; brother Robert (Myrna) Trapp of Atlanta, GA; and sister Marilyn (Dean) Goble of Elburn, IL. Predeceased by her parents, husband Willard, brother William Trapp, and sister Lorraine Van Meter.

In lieu of flowers memorials, may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Dorothy's name.
