Dorothy M. Butt, 87, of Belvidere, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 20, 2017 at Swedish American Hospital. She was born May 12, 1929, daughter of Clarence and Jessie (Martin) Book. Dorothy graduated from Leaf River High School and was employed by A.G. Communications for 23 years. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a part of a bible study group and the women's circle. Dorothy was a devoted mother and grandmother, who enjoyed taking care of her rose bushes and yard. She loved bird watching, baking and watching football.

Dorothy is loved and missed by her children, Cynthia (James) Onley, Larry (Sharon) Butt, Angela Butt, Mark (Eileen) Butt and Jennifer (Tim) Swanson; grandchildren, Teresa (Tracey) McCormick, Kevin (Jennifer) Onley, Joshua (Tiffany) Aurand, Natalie, Mallory, and Kelsey Swanson; great-grandchildren, Madison Onley, Miranda McCormick, Brayden, Audrina, and Austin Aurand; siblings, Harold (Cheryl) Book, Marjorie Genandt, Mildred Samons, David (Linda) Book; and sister-in-law, Beverly Book. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Albert (Helen) Book, Glen (Nellie) Book, Everett Book, Helen (Johnny) Meyers, Doris Book and Delores (John) Davis.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 610 Bonus Ave, Belvidere, IL with Rev. Monty Fox officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL. Burial will be in Highland Gardens.
