Doris J. Zimmer 78, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, November 30, 2014 in Pinecrest Manor, Mt. Morris, IL after a long illness.  Doris was born January 8, 1936 in Belvidere, IL the daughter of Merritt "Bud" and Helen (Sweezy) Watkins.  She married Mr. Howard E. Zimmer in Belvidere, IL on March 15, 1959. Doris was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Belvidere where she was a member of the Ada Stearns Fellowship group.  Doris worked for the Bottle Cap Company prior to the birth of her children; when they grew older, she worked for Marshall Fields, from which she retired.  She enjoyed traveling in the west, flower gardening, bird watching and horses; she also bowled on various leagues over the years.

Doris is loved and will be missed by her children, Brian (Sheri) Zimmer of Roscoe, IL, Pam (Dan) Hulvey of Mt. Morris; grandchildren, Jenessa, Cassandra, Trevor, Brooke and Ross; sister, Arlene (Pierre) Outzen of Belvidere; sister in-law, Lorraine (Ted) Kiefer of Belvidere; brother in-law, Richard Babcock of Garden Prairie and many nieces and nephews.  Doris is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard and sister, Neva Babcock.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL with Rev. Cory Whitford pastor of First Baptist Church officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home.  Burial in Highland Garden of Memories.  Memorials can be given in care of Pinecrest Manor, 500 Evergreen Lane, Mt.
