Doris M. Rands, 102, of Belvidere, passed away on December 23, 2016 at Maple Crest Care Center in Belvidere. The daughter of Bartlett and Bertha (Milam) Fox, was born on November 5, 1914 in West Jersey, IL. Doris was the proud owner of Fox Skating Palace with her husband Merrill for several decades. She married the late Merrill Rands on December 21, 1932 in Marengo, IL.

Doris was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for at least 70 years. She enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables and was very fond of her cats and birds.

Doris will be dearly missed by her son, Ronald (Rosemary) Rands of Goldsboro, NC; brother, Melvin (Donna) Fox of Sarasota, Fl; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Merrill; son, Harold; brothers, Kenneth, Dale and Allen; and sister, Iola.

A funeral service, celebrating Doris's life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 28 at Anderson Funeral And Cremation Services. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 28 at the funeral home, Pastor Dan Lashley will be officiating. Burial will take place at Belvidere Cemetery.
