Doris E. Bounds, 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on August 29, 2019 in Rockford, IL. Doris was born on May 29, 1932 to Clifford and Carrie (Johnson) Hawley in Oshkosh, WI. She married her loving husband, Russell Bounds, on November 24, 1973 in Oshkosh, WI. Doris was a member of Pine Grove Free Methodist Church for many years. Doris enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing dominoes and other table games. She loved spending time with her family, baking and making sweet treats, and reading nurse novels.

Doris will be missed by her children, Don (Sandy) Bounds, Wendy (Doug) Kerlin, and Penny (Bob) Schultz; her siblings, Alice, Janet, Jerry, Kathryn, and Ruth; her grandchildren, Brad, Chad, Ryan, Becky, Crystal, Rene', Terra, Joe, Nick, Hannah, and Addisyn; her 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was first married and widowed by Curtis Sundquist

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; her parents; and her siblings, Kenny, Richard, Wayne, David, Joyce, Carol, Don, and Jean.



Special thank you to Sandy Bounds who gave Doris exceptional care for many years, taking her shopping, managing her medical visits, taking her and her sister on Branson vacations, church, holiday gatherings. All of this for sure added many enjoyable years for Doris.



A visitation will take place from 10-10:45 a.m. on
Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W.
Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL, 61008. A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. on
Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial
at Highland Garden of Memories. Pastor Paul Bundschuh will be officiating.
