Obituary

Donna Loomis, 71, of Poplar Grove, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026. She was born on June 16, 1954, to Loretta McGrain and Charles Loomis.

Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, a furbaby mom, and friend whose kindness and strong spirit touched everyone who knew her. She worked for many years as a pharmacist assistant, a role that reflected her caring nature and dedication to helping others.

On July 15, 2006, Donna married the love of her life, Bruno Rusanowski, with whom she shared almost 40 happy years. She cherished time spent with her family and friends and found joy in simple pleasures, watching television, playing games on her phone, attending fairs and festivals, visiting flea markets, and enjoying concerts. Donna also loved watching NASCAR and football. She had a special place in heart for all the dogs and cats her and Bruno had over the years.

Donna had a deep love for music, especially Barbra Streisand, Jelly Roll, Conway Twitty, Barry Manalow, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, Rod Stewart, and a wide range of country and rock music. She was also well known for her love of online shopping, especially on TEMU, which always brought a smile to her face and a hefty dent in Bruski's check book!

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Bruno Rusanowski; her daughters, Colleen (James) Hill and Jodi Briedis; her grandchildren, Wayne (Nikki) Rabner Jr., Meagan (Kia) Rabner, Mackenzie Dubick, Jayson Beake, and Hailey Beake; her lifelong best friends, Joannie Wallrich and Kay Wiedmaier; and family friend, Tara Shea.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loretta McGrain and Charles Loomis; her brothers, Kevin Loomis and Charles "Buddy" Loomis; her infant son, Jayson Briedis; and the father of her children, Robert Briedis.

Cremation rites have been accorded through Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donna will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her loving heart, warm smile, the joy she brought to those around her, and her Irish temper.
