Donna Mae Green, 70, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 after a long illness. She was born February 7, 1947, daughter of Carl E. and Eunice H. (Sandman) Mitchell. She graduated from Belvidere High School, class of 1965, and she then graduated from Rock Valley College in 1967. She married David A. Green on October 3, 1970 in Belvidere, he preceded her in death on September 2, 2010. Donna worked at Illinois National/ Amcore and retired after 43 years from BMO Harris Bank. She attended Saint Paul Lutheran Church. Donna was a lifetime member of the American Legion, and also the Belvidere Moose. She had a passion for genealogy, crocheting and covered bridges. Most of all, Donna adored her grandchildren.

Donna is loved and missed by her sons, Scott (Zoraya) Green and Ryan (Creshina) Green; and her grandchildren, Cody, Joel, and Marissa Green, Latavia and Aniyah Green. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David A. Green and her brother, Larry E. Mitchell.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Allan Buss officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery. There will be a luncheon held at the American Legion, 900 West Chrysler Drive, Belvidere, IL 61008 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission in Donna's name.
