Poplar Grove, IllinoisDonald Stephen Suhr, 70, of Poplar Grove, IL died at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2008 in his home. Donald was born June 7, 1938 in Belvidere the son of Donald and Lois (Gould) Suhr. He married Martha Murkve in Beloit, WI on June 23, 1962. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1956 and began his plumbing career at C.A. Tripp and Son in Poplar Grove. Donald started Sun Plumbing and Heating in Poplar Grove in 1982 serving the community for over 20 years, he also served as plumbing inspector for the past 10 years until April of 2008. He was elected as Village Trustee in 1969 and served in that position over 25 years. Donald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard, member of the Harvard Moose Lodge and the Poplar Grove Lions Club.He survived by his wife, Martha; stepfather, Harold "Red" Stammler of Harvard; son, Douglas (Stephanie) Suhr of Rockford and their children, Hannah, Keegan, Katelyn and Aiden; daughter, Stephanie Suhr of Poplar Grove; sister, Donna (Ronald) Schultz of Harvard; brother, Walter (Patricia) Suhr of Poplar Grove; many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. Donald is predeceased by his parents and daughter, Tiffany Lynn.

A memorial will be established in Donald's name in care of his family.
