Donald A. Goltermann, 78, of Belvidere, IL died Thursday evening, May 11, 2006 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Donald was born December 17, 1927 in York Center, DuPage, CO, Illinois, the son of Helmut D. and Marie (Schumacher) Goltermann. Donald served our country in the US Army as a Military Police Officer. He was inducted on January 4, 1954 and was discharged in Arizona on October 4, 1955. Donald married Phyllis Scherer on February 20, 1960 in Genoa, IL. He was employed by A.G. Communication for 40 years retiring on May 31, 1995. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the church's dartball team. He enjoyed hobby farming, collecting tractors and his farm animals. Donald was also an avid reader.Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of Belvidere; daughter, Vicky L. Goltermann of Belvidere; sister, Arlene (Bill) Anderson of San Antonio, TX; brother, Fred (Karen) Goltermann of Genoa, IL; nieces, nephews and cousins.Donald is predeceased by his parents.
