Belvidere, IllinoisDonald G. Hepner, Sr. of Belvidere, IL died early Sunday morning, October 14, 2007 in Swedish American Hospital. Donald was born June 24, 1937 in Boscobel, Wisconsin the son of Frank and Crystal (Jacobs) Hepner. He married Joyce Fodor on June 27, 1970 in Belvidere. Over the years, Donald drove a semi truck. He started his driving career at age 17. When retired from trucking, he had driven for several companies including Jewel, BFI, and Edwards Bakery. Following his retirement Don went on to work for Wal-Mart and security for Arnold Engineering.In his spare time, Donald loved to attend Hot Air Balloon Rallies, Collecting hats, key chains, beer cans and NASCAR items. He also enjoyed attending the Walcott, Iowa Truck Jamboree. Don cherished the time he spent at home where he was meticulous in his lawn care and was attentive to his flower garden. He also enjoyed having coffee twice a day with the "boys" to catch up in the goings on.He will be missed by his loving wife, Joyce; children, Tara (Joe) Polizzi of Elizabeth, IL, Toma (Dan) Becker of Winnebago, IL, Donald G. Hepner, Jr. who lovingly cared for his father, of Belvidere, grandchildren, Josh, Dave, Dani (Jeremy), Andrew, Anna; brother, Fred (Linda) Hepner of Rockford; nephew, Jeff (Dawn) Hepner; great nephews, Cole and Matthew Hepner; mother in-law, Florence Fodor of Belvidere and brothers in-law, Richard (Nancy) and Robert (Laurie) Fodor.Donald was predeceased by his mother, Crystal Young, Step-father, Leonard Young and numerous aunts and uncles.

A memorial will be established in care of the family.
