Donald E. Crawford, age 82, of Belvidere, Illinois died Friday morning, August 12, 2005 in his home after a lingering illness. Donald was born March 15, 1923 in Rockford, Illinois the son of Oliver and Elsie (Schwebke) Crawford. He married Ethel Shull on October 1, 1944 in Malta, Illinois she predeceased him on January 23, 1985. Donald then married Janice Heiser on August 8, 2003 in Belvidere. In his early years, Donald was a farmer prior to becoming an electrician. Donald did electrical work for RAA and Wilson Electric. Following his retirement, in 1987, he did electrical consultant work until 2002.Donald was a social member of the V.F.W. John Hugo Kaiser Post 1461 and American Legion Boone Post 77 and a life member of the Belvidere Moose Lodge 295. He was a 50 year member of the IBEW. Besides his work, Donald enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.Survivors include his wife, Janice of Belvidere; children, Bonnie (Coy) Bartell of Garden Prairie, IL, Malva (Ronald) Craft of Garden Prairie, IL, and Marsha Strang of Belvidere; grandchildren, Brad (Wendy) Bartell of Garden Prairie, Jeff (Christy) Boose of Portsmouth, VA, Nicole Boose of Belvidere, IL, Jason, Alyssa and Darren Craft all of Garden Prairie; step children, Kevin (Lori) Heiser and Lorie (Mark) Patterson; step grandchildren, Jacob and Bradley Heiser, Erica and Andrew Patterson; great grandchildren, Sarah, Justin and Donevan Boose, Jessica, Jordan Westbrook and Becky Bartell; brother, Roger (Carol) Crawford of Wadsworth, Ohio; sisters, June (Dale) Morgan and Delores Weitemeyer both of Belvidere.Donald is predeceased by his parents and first wife, Ethel.
