IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald "Bull"
Burt Markham
February 7, 1975 – June 24, 2025
Donald Burt Markham, affectionately known as "Bull" by those closest to him, passed away suddenly on June 24, 2025, at the age of 50. Born on February 7, 1975, he was the beloved son of LaVetta (Meler) Flores and Donald A. Markham.
Bull was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He lived with a deep sense of purpose and integrity, guided by strong convictions and an unwavering dedication to his family, his community, and his club. Known for his big heart, infectious humor, and unmatched work ethic, Bull left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He shared 27 incredible years with the love of his life, Cari, building a life full of love, and laughter. Together, they raised a beautiful family. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to 8 grandchildren.
Donald was the respected President of Broken Chains RC, a role he held with honor and pride. He worked for many years as a dedicated truck driver for JCK Topsoil. In his free time, he lived for the moments spent on his motorcycle with his wife, and the roar of the engines at Sycamore Speedway, where he used to race with his family and made memories that will last a lifetime.
Donald will be deeply missed by his wife Cari; his children, Samantha Markham, A.J. (Hannah) Markham, Anthony Szatek, Joseph (Bailey) Szatek; his grandchildren, Bianca, Addison, Ivy, Violet, Gabby, Patrick, Brayden, and Damien; his parents, Donald (Barb) Markham, LaVetta (Miguel) Flores; his sisters, Donna (Mele) Morales and Joleena Mejia; his step brother, Nick Cicio; as well as a large extended circle of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and club brothers and sisters. His legacy of love, strength, and loyalty will continue to live on through all those whose lives he touched.
Bull will be welcomed in Heaven by many family members and friends.
A visitation for Bull will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 12pm-4pm followed by a funeral service at 4pm at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL, 61008.
