Belvidere, IllinoisDona M. Crawford, 82, of Belvidere, IL died early Tuesday morning, January 11, 2011 in her home after a lingering illness. Dona was born May 17, 1928 in Belvidere the daughter of Richard and Ellen (Pageloff) Steinke. She married Irving O. "Pete" Crawford on February 17, 1944 in Belvidere. Dona worked seasonally for Wenzel's Turkey Farm while she raised her children. She also helped Pete on the farm. She was a former member of St. John's UCC, and Davis United Methodist Church at Herbert. She currently was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belvidere. Dona enjoyed crafts; she mare ornaments each year for her grandchildren and afghans for her children. She also like to garden. Dona and Pete enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Arizona.Dona was loved and will be missed by her children, Carol (John) Waggoner of Abilene, TX, Timothy (Jean) Crawford of Janesville, WI, Nancy Stedman of Belvidere, Peter (Deb) Crawford of S. Beloit, IL; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernace Williams of Arlington, TX, Frances (Hal) Drake of Columbia, GA,; brother, Herman (Nelda) Steinke of Belvidere. Dona is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Laverne and Richard Steinke, Jr.; sister, Lorraine Engelsen, and grandson, Travis Crawford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in care of the Leukemia Foundation or OSF St. Anthony Hospice, in Dona's memory.
