Dixie May
Giba
2006 – June 5, 2026
Dixie May Giba, affectionately known as "Dixers," crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 6, 2026, at the remarkable age of 20 years old.
Born into a loving family and continuing her mother, Samurai’s, legacy, Dixie spent two decades sharing her life with those who adored her. Through every chapter, she remained a faithful companion, protector, and source of unconditional love.
Dixie ruled her home with confidence and grace, strutting through life like the queen she knew herself to be, always carrying herself with her head held high. Brave, loving, loyal, and protective, she left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Nothing brought Dixie more joy than being surrounded by her family, especially the babies and grandbabies she loved so dearly, Ditka holding a special place in her heart. She enjoyed car and motorcycle rides, floating in the pool when she was younger, and savoring a special treat—especially a piece of real venison. Her favorite place was simple: wherever her mama was. No matter where life took her family, Dixie was happiest right by their side.
One of the memories her family treasures most is watching her outdoors, soaking up the sunshine and playing happily, her ears bouncing with every joyful movement. It is a memory that perfectly captures her spirit and zest for life.
For twenty years, Dixie was more than a pet. She was a best friend, a protector, an emotional support companion, and a beloved member of the family. She shared her love freely and made everyone she met feel special.
Dixie is lovingly remembered by Teri Giba, Cory Giba, Thomas Freeman, Anthony Curtis, Trevor Curtis, Ronnie Willoughby, Alaina Giba, Iris Giba, Ditka Giba, and the many family members and friends whose lives she touched.
Though saying goodbye was one of the hardest things her family has ever had to do, they take comfort in knowing that Dixie was deeply loved throughout her extraordinary life. Her family hopes she is now living her dreams, running free and happy once again.
Your paw prints and the love you shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved you.
“See you when I get there, Dixie May.”
