Dixie L. Kirk, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully October 5, 2023, in Rockford. She was born March, 11, 1943, in Wayne City, Illinois, daughter to Willard Butler and Edna (Austin) Butler. She graduated from Belvidere High School, was a proud Belvidere Buc and excelled in many sports. She married Joe Kirk on February 17, 1962. They shared 59 years together. Dixie worked for twenty plus years in management at Dodge Lanes. She enjoyed coaching many of Belvidere's youth bowlers. In 1983 she was a member of Team USA, where she won a silver and bronze medal in International Bowling Competition in Caracas, Venezuela. She was a life time member of the Rockford Area Bowlers Hall of Fame and Flora Grange.

Dixie is loved and will be missed by her children, Kerri (Jeff) Thiede, James (Julie) Kirk, Valerie Stensven; grandchildren, Michael Kirk, Josh (Ashley) Thiede, Jennifer Martins, Chad (Amy) Lee, Corey (Danielle) Lee, Chelsey (Dan) McSweeney; and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Melvin, Marvin and Bill; and sisters, Carol, Phyliss, Raetta and Connie; and several nieces and nephews; as well as brothers in-law and sisters in-law. She is predeceased by husband, Joe; her parents; sisters, Velma, Donna and Linda; son-in-law, Larry Stensven; granddaughter, Breann Kirk; and great-granddaughter, Juniper Kirk.

The visitation for Dixie will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL. The funeral service for Dixie, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the funeral home. Rev. Dannie Bell will officiate. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories.
