Denny Blazer, 61, of Belvidere, IL, passed away May 1, 2023. He was born on March 22, 1962, to Gladys (Rhodes) and Howard Blazer. He met his life partner, Essie Merbs in Arkansas, and together they served the Belvidere community and ran Mission programs, providing local homeless with food and clothing. Denny was also a manager at the Belvidere Tobacco shop for over 12 years.

He was an avid animal lover. He loved his pets, which included 5 cats, a bird, and 3 chihuahuas. Denny loved Astronomy. He built big, extravagant telescopes from scratch and a favorite past time was going to the observatories. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his partner, Essie; his children, Brandon and Rebekah; siblings, Terry, Tim, Rick and Karen Blazer; as well as 2 grandchildren and multiple nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends whom he loved dearly.

He is predeceased in death by his parents, Gladys and Howard Blazer; his baby son, Joseph; siblings, Gene, Kay, Bill, Ronny "Ron" Blazer, Gladys Larkinsons, and Howard Blazer.

Denny's funeral service will be Saturday, May 6, at 12 p.m. at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Tom Hay officiating.
