Dennis J. Payne, 51, of Poplar Grove, IL passed away suddenly, Monday evening, November 23, 2015 in  the emergency department of Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, IL.  Dennis was born May 6, 1964 in Berwyn, IL the son of James M. and Ilene P. Payne.  He married Pamella L. Gasparic on November 30, 1991 in LaGrange, IL  Dennis was a builder of homes and a child of God.  As a youth, Dennis received Christ and was later baptized at Silver Birch Ranch in northern Wisconsin.  He attended church at First Free Church in Rockford.  Dennis enjoyed running and coaching with the Rockford Wildcats Running Club.  He enjoyed grilling on his "Big Green Egg".  Dennis was also known for his woodworking skills. He and his son, Sam carved the coolest sword.

Dennis is loved and will be missed by his wife, Pam; son, Samuel; parents, James and Ilene; brother, Dwight (Barb) Payne; nieces, Melanie, Jana, Tori and Cassie; chosen brother Mike (Sue) Fox and their children, Stephen and Adam; beloved cousins; mother and father in-law, Carole and Rich Gasparic of Poplar Grove; brother in-law, Michael (Christy) Gasparic and their children, Grayson and Haylee.  Dennis is preceded in death by his grandparents, Matt and Samantha Payne and Arthur and Allie Parks; as well as aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W.
