Belvidere, ILDeloss A. Pete, 93, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, June 13, 2012, in his home, after a brief illness. Deloss was born February 4, 1919 in Stillman Valley, IL the son of Tony and Josephine (Medonia) Pete. Deloss married Irene Rooth on September 21, 1940 in South Beloit, IL. Deloss farmed from 1933 thru 1967 and retired from Rockford Bakeries in 1979 after 41 years of service. He was a former member of the V.F.W. and Bakers and Confectionaries' Union. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy in the Pacific Theater in Okinawa.Deloss is loved and will be missed by his children Reginald (Annie) Pete of Roscoe, Carol (Jim) Hanson of Fresno, CA, Gail Galloway of Los Osis, CA, Charles (Deborah) Pete of Belvidere, Edward (Cindy) Pete of Rockford; brother Gene Pete of Florida; grandchildren Daniel Montelebre, Debbie Marinelli, Brett Larson, Danielle Larson, Monica Larson, Jimmy Galloway, Brian Galloway, Natia Pete, Marcie Bushard, Anthony Pete, Emily Pete; great-grandchildren Mason Pete, Jason Breedlove, Nick Marinelli, Darby Marinelli, Brandon Marinelli, Erik Montelebre. Deloss is predeceased by his parents; wife Irene; daughter Judi; son Michael; son in-law Jim Galloway; brothers and sister Frank, Lil, Sarah and Everett. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care and kindness shown to Deloss by hospice staff, Erica, Theresa, Clara, Barb, Julie, Sam and Lydia.
