Obituary

Deloris L. Gardner, 85 of Poplar Grove, died Monday, November 9, 2009 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a short battle with cancer. She was born June 6, 1924 in Grand Meadow, Minnesota, the daughter of Casper and Cora (Weed) Bremseth. She was a High School graduate in Minesota. She married Patrick J. Gardner in Chatfield, Minnesota on September 22, 1946. He died May 11, 2008. She and her husband moved to Illinois in 1967. Deloris was a welder during WWII in the war effort. She was employed doing various jobs such as welding for Badger Marine Co. or being part of the Kitchen staff at Admiral Corporation or working the assembly line for KKO Manufacturing Co. She also made pies for various restaurants and nursing homes. She enjoyed gardening, canning, reading and giving to others. But most of all, spending time with her family. She is survived by her four children, James (Joanne) Gardner, Sycamore, Illinois; Wanda (Chuck) Marzahl, Harvard, Illinois; Craig (Sue) Gardner, Belvidere, Illinois; Merry (Ed) Crowder, Loves Park, Illinois; four grandchildren, Bill Gardner, Michael Gardner, Becky Crowder and Matt Gardner; one great-grandchild, Rebecca Gardner; five sisters, Freda Lobland, Martha Ellen Vogel, Eva Sorenson, Ovedia Bakken, all of Minnesota and Luella Tuffte of Rockford, Illinois; two brothers, Kenneth and Richard Bremseth, both of Minnesota. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and seven siblings.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Poplar Grove United Methodist Church.
