Obituary

Delmer L. Knutson, 68, of Belvidere died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in the Emergency Department of Swedish-American Belvidere following a courageous battle with cancer. Born November 24, 1941 in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, the son of Harry B. and Ruth (Peterson) Knutson. Delmer was married to Janice Fiebranz in Belvidere on September 16, 1972. He was employed as an Electrician for Sundstrand Co. before he retired. He has served as the Belvidere City Treasurer. Delmer was a member of both First Presbyterian Church and St. John's United Church of Christ in Belvidere. A member of Belvidere Lion's Club, Boone Gideons and Boone County Gardeners. He had won many awards at the Boone County Fair for his pickles and jellies. Delmer also coached BYB for many years. He enjoyed Golf, Fishing, Gardening, playing pinochle and supporting the Green Bay Packers. Delmer graduated from Menomonie Wisconsin High School, Class of 1960. He also attended University of Wisconsin at Stout. He is survived by his wife, Jan, of Belvidere; a son, Daniel (Heather) Knutson, East Troy, Wisconsin; a daughter, Jill (Mark) Bertolasi, Belvidere; two grandchildren, Lauren Knutson and David Bertolasi; his faithful dog, Paige; four sisters, Inez Satter, Sandra (Tom) Werner, Victoria (Stanley) Cronk, Lorraine Knutson; two brothers, Raymond (Sally) Knutson and Harlen (Lorna) Knutson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Oris, Wesley and Gaylon Knutson.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or St. John's United Church of Christ or to the Keen Age Center.
