Deborah L. Wilkins, 58, of Belvidere, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in her home following a short illness. She was born on January 16, 1955, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois; the daughter of Floyd S. and Betty J. (Eckoff) Riley, Sr. Deborah married John W. Wilkins in Belvidere on July 31, 1971. She was a homemaker as well as a noon aide and food service worker for Belvidere School District 100. Deborah was a member of the Women of the Moose. She loved hummingbirds, flowers, fishing, bullfrogs, and gardening. She also enjoyed spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren and attending Demolition Derbies. As a child, she enjoyed riding on the tractor with her dad. Deborah is survived by her husband, John; four children, Carrie (Keith) Hill, John (Melissa) Wilkins, Jr., Brandy (Jon) Beasley and Elizabeth (Todd Carlson) Wilkins; four siblings, Melvin (Pansy) Riley, Donna (Mike) Humbracht, Floyd (Kelly) Riley and Gary (Terry) Riley; brother-in-law, Al Spears, Sr. and ten grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barb Spears. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Swedish-American Hospital and the nurses and staff of Northern Illinois Hospice especially Valarie for the care and support through Deborah's illness.
