Belvidere, IllinoisDean A. Nemec, 63 of Belvidere went to be with the Lord, Friday, May 11, 2007 surrounded by his loving family in his home. He left this world peacefully, after an optimistic and courageous battle with cancer. Dean was born January 25, 1944 to Robert and Lela Rose (Grilley) Nemec in Indiana; attended Harvard schools and moved to Belvidere in the early 1960's. After working for many years in construction, Dean started Nemec Construction in 1980. His skilled hands crafted many homes and projects in the area. He always took extreme pride in all that he did, especially in the upkeep of his lawn and vehicles. Dean always had "a project" going wherever he was living and he enjoyed collecting John Deere tractors. The highlight of every spring was his trip to Marco Island where he married Lori Seele on April 20, 1995. His last wishes were honored when he traveled to Marco Island, May 1st, 2007. He was a member of Flora Grange, former Boone Co. Fair Board Director and Moose member. Survivors include his wife, Lori; children, Randy (Doreen) Nemec of Poplar Grove, Cindy (Jeff) Molosz of Belvidere; grandchildren, Erica (David) Boenzi, Brandon Nemec, Christian and Colby Molosz; great-grandchild-to-be baby Boenzi; step-daughters, Rachel and Emily Day; brother, Don (Rose) Nemec of Belvidere; sisters, Dee (Dick) Bradley, Tennessee, Ann Rogers, Capron, Linda (Roland) Schlickman, Nevada; in-laws, Gene and Sue Seele, Donna (Reser) West-mother of Dean's children; several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Sugar. Dean is predeceased by his Parents, sister, Marlene Nemec-Aultman; and step-mother, Edna Nemec.Dean's family wishes to give a heartfelt acknowledgment to Harvey Einhorn, MD and the Oncology staff at SAH, the team at Odyssey Health Care (Hospice) and to Dr. Gene Boyd for special support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
