Dean Kruckeberg, 77, of Belvidere passed away early Saturday March 18, 2006 at his home. He was born June 23, 1928 in Madison Co. Illinois to Otto and Frieda (Meyer) Kruckeberg. He spent his early years in southern Illinois where he attended school. He served our country in the US Army during the Korean War with the 45th Division Field Artillery. He married Gloria Sue Paynter on July 10, 1957 in Moro, IL., she predeceased him on May 31, 1988. He worked as a car hauler for Cassens Transportation for 40 years until his retirement in 1989. After his retirement, he worked part time for Green Giant, Melvin Banks, and Freedom Express. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1052, American Legion Boone Post #77, Teamsters Union Local 325, and the United Church of Christ in Belvidere. He is survived by daughters: Valerie Kruckeberg, Virginia (LeRoy) Holtz, Tammy (Bob) Voiles, Lanette (Gary) Kamholtz, and son: Lanny (Marsha) Kruckeberg all of Belvidere, grandchildren: Joshua (Mel), Jeremy (Lauren), Heather, Mike, Frederick (Sara), Charles, Kevin, Michelle (Mike), Josh, Benjamin, Bart, Adam, and Lani LeeAnn, great-grandchildren: Shanea', Caitlyn, Marina, Joslyn, Cora, Christian, AnnaMarie, and Caden, sister: Verlene Urekar of Springfield, IL, brother Dale (Sadie) Kruckeberg of St. Peters, MO. He is predeceased by his parents, wife Gloria Sue, granddaughter Dana Sue, sister Alberta (Alvin "Butch") Daube, brothers: Leo (Opal) Kruckeberg, Glen (Loretta) Kruckeberg, brother-in-law: Joseph Urekar, and his beloved Yorkie Teddy.
