David Leroy Tisdale, age 58, of Poplar Grove, Illinois, peacefully passed away into the arms of the Lord on November 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 2, 1966, in Pekin, Illinois, he was the son of Evelyn (Timke) and Lee Roy Tisdale. Dave was a man whose life was defined by his deep devotion to his family, his unwavering faith, and his genuine care for others.

On October 25, 1986, Dave married the love of his life, Tonya (Peters). Together, they built a beautiful life, raising three children and sharing 38 years of love, laughter, and companionship. Dave's role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather was his greatest joy and fulfillment.

His talent and work ethic led him to a long and successful career with UPS, where he worked for 36 years and retired in 2019. During his career, Dave was also a proud member of the Teamsters Union, and he valued the friendships and connections he made with his colleagues over the years.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dave found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a remarkable ability to fix nearly anything that came his way, especially computers. An avid music lover, he enjoyed playing the guitar. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was hiking through the woods, biking along scenic trails, or relaxing by the pool on a warm day.

Dave had a gift for making connections with people; no matter where he went, he could strike up a conversation with a stranger and quickly form a lasting friendship. His warmth and openness made everyone feel welcome and valued. He was the happiest when spending time with family and friends, whether it be at home or on vacation.

Above all, Dave was a dedicated grandfather who adored his grandchildren. He always made it a point to spend quality time with them, playing, laughing, and creating cherished memories. His love for his grandchildren was boundless, and he took great joy in being an active and loving presence in their lives.

Faith, family, and friendship were the cornerstones of Dave's life. He lived by these principles every day, showing kindness, compassion, and love to everyone he met. His selflessness, genuine nature, and caring spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Dave's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Tonya; his children, Jesse (Rebekah) Tisdale, Shawn Tisdale, and Amanda (Zachary) Koga; grandchildren, McKayla, Conner, McKenna, and Cooper, his mother, Evelyn Tisdale; 3 sisters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he loved dearly.

He is welcomed into heaven by his father, Lee Roy Tisdale, and brother, Jim Tisdale.

Dave's memorial service will be on Friday, December 13th at 2pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Located at 1045 Belvidere Rd, Belvidere, IL 61008. Celebration of life with refreshments to follow in the fellowship hall of the church from 3pm-6pm.
