David Brian Self, 46, of Machesney Park, Illinois, died Thursday, December 3, 2009 in his home following a sudden illness. He was born February 15, 1963 in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of David Lee and Donna May (Danner) Self. David married Laura Lynn Campbell in Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Boone County on October 27, 1990. He was employed as a Cross Merchandiser for Home Depot. David enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and computers as well as his Harley motorcycle. He is a graduate of North Boone High School and attended Beloit College. He is survived by his wife, Laura and four children, Emily, Cortney, Rebeca and Melodee, all of Machesney Park, Illinois; his parents, Donna Self of Roscoe, Illinois and David Self of Missouri; three brothers, Raymond (Lori) Self, Ken ( Missy) Self both of Roscoe, and Donald (Becky) Self of Poplar Grove, Illinois; and eleven nieces and nephews.
