David Carl Jepson, 89, of Cherry Valley, IL passed away May 29, 2021 in his home. David was born April 18, 1932 in Elgin, IL, the son of Carl and Edna Mae (Mason) Jepson. He married the love of his life, Mildred J. Davis, on March 11, 1950 in Elgin, IL. David graduated with a B.S. in Accounting and was a Certified Public Accountant. David worked for Modern Dairy, City of Elgin, Village of Mount Prospect (Finance Director), and most recently with several smaller municipalities in the region (Genoa, Kirkland, etc.). He was the 1990 Illinois Government Finance Officers Association President and current member of Grace Reformed Baptist Church. He loved reading, learning, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his strong faith in Jesus Christ his Savior, compassion, and generosity.

David is loved and missed by his wife, Mildred; children, David Jepson Jr., Susan (Francis) Lenski, Daniel (Shari) Jepson, James (Carlene) Jepson; siblings, Bill, Edna Mae, Ken; grandchildren, Daniel, Mary, Eric, Tom, Emily, Ryan, Jacob, Brianna, Cassidy, Trevor; great-grandchildren, Timothy and Elise. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Martin, Elaine, Robert, and Beatrice.

The visitation will take place 4:00-6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 West Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 4, 2021 at Grace Reformed Baptist Church, 6310 Guilford Rd, Rockford, IL 61107 with Rev. Dale Smith officiating. There will be a visitation from 9:30-10:15 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the church.
