David L. Finnestad, 60, of Belvidere, Illinois, died Monday morning, October 20, 2008 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a sudden illness. David was born December 7, 1947 in Belvidere, the son of Burdette and Alice (Barnes) Finnestad. He married Valerie A. Bruce on May 9, 1970 in Belvidere and following her death he married Debra Haskins on February 1, 1996, in Las Vegas. David retired from the Chrysler Corporation in October of 1996 where he worked for many years.David was a member of the Boone Co. Saddle Club, Boone Co. Fire Protection Dist. #2, Boone Co. Farm Bureau, and was a part of the cattle show at the Boone Co. Fair for 28 years. He enjoyed working with animals, fishing, woodworking and spending time with the kids. David was a veteran of the US Army serving in Germany from 1967-1969.Survivors include his wife, Debra; children, Brian (Tommi) Finnestad of Cordova, IL, Angela (Chad) Dickmann of Rochelle, IL; grandson Kaden Finnestad; sister, Cinda (Chuck) Spotz of Belvidere; brother, Roger (Lois) Finnestad of Beaver Dam, WI, numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. David is predeceased by his parents and first wife, Valerie.

A memorial will be established in care of David's family.
