David T. Bullard, 56, of Poplar Grove, died Saturday, October 11, 2014 in Rockford Memorial Hospital from injuries received in a vehicle accident. Dave was born June 8, 1958 in Belvidere, Illinois; the son of Frank and Kay (Reimer) Bullard. Dave was thoughtful, generous, and lived for his family. He graduated from North Boone High School, Class of 1976. Dave married Terri Anderson in Belvidere, Illinois on July 22, 1978. He was lifelong Farmer and was also an Owner-Operator of Bull Run Farms. He was employed by Ralston's Grain for many years. Dave was a member of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. He was a volunteer fireman for North Boone District #3 for 21 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all that Mother Nature had to offer. Dave was a steward of the land and always left things better than he found them. He was a proud "Papa" who found renewed vigor from the lives of his grandsons.
He is survived by wife, Terri, of Poplar Grove; two children, Kristin (John) Merrick of Rockford; Matthew (Kara) Bullard, of Poplar Grove; four grandsons, Drake and Lucas Merrick and Blake and Benjamin Bullard; "number two son", Joel (Ashley) Reirich, of Caledonia, Illinois; loving German Shepherd, "Sascha"; parents, Frank and Kay Bullard, Poplar Grove; two brothers, Dennis (Peggy) Bullard, of Loves Park, Illinois; Dwight (Kari) Bullard, Oakdale, Minnesota; a sister, Kimberly Williams, of Rockford; paternal grandmother, Loretta Case, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his biological father, Lawrence Case; sister, Carolyn Case, "special angels" Benjamin and Marlee Bullard, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral service 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2014 in Poplar Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Christopher Druce Jones, officiating. Burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the church from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014. A memorial to be established at a later date.
